Both literally and figuratively.
I had gotten home after my long, taxing work day (double shift) only to find that all hell had broken loose here in the form of my youngest son’s work van being stranded with a flat tire and no spare, and him in a panic because our money situation? Is one I can’t even talk about right now for fear of setting myself up for a panic attack. And ain’t nobody got time for that.
By the time all was said and done, I had been out of my house (including work and commute and seeing to work van) for fourteen hours and everyone was in a foul mood. And I was so exhausted, I just wanted to crawl in bed. I pulled my bedspread off and replaced it with a comforter because it was actually cold last night. Then Aristotle, our pit pup, crawled up on my bed and literally PEED on it! He’s been regressing lately and I’m not sure if it’s just something this breed does, or if it’s because of the tension in the house lately, or what the deal is.
But I digress. On the other hand? It was a comforter, so only the comforter got wet and I was able to make do with a plush blanket and my bedspread. It was kind of cool in the room, but as I said before, I was exhausted. I started to watch Tuesday’s American Horror Story, my favorite after-double-shift ritual, but fell asleep part of the way through. Of course, I woke up way too exhausted to blog or visit any blogs this morning, but at least today’s tonight’s post will go up before midnight (my time).
Today was a much better day. The work van was fixed. My comforter is once again (with the help of my homemade oxygen cleaner, homemade stain remover, a vinegar pre-soak, and homemade laundry detergent), clean and smelling fresh. And unlike this time last night? It will go directly from the hot dryer to my bed.
I’m still stressed, but taking things day by day. Which is really all anyone can do in any given situation – good or bad – anyway.

Because I’m in bad need of an island lullaby…
That sounds like a rotten day. I hope today’s better!
Oh, thanks! It was so much better!
Ooph. What a day. I’m so sorry this was such a challenging one for you. I can only imagine how physically and mentally tired you must have been. Life can be such a huge jerk sometimes, but hopefully the puppy helps lower your stress (you know, when he’s not peeing on your bed).

Thank you, Cathy. Thursday was wonderful, and today was good as well. Gotta take the bad with the good, I know, but…..when things get bad, sometimes they get really bad.
Sorry to hear that! A good friend once told me the best thing to do with a bad day is crawl into bed, pull the comforter over your head and arise to fight again in the morning. And you couldn’t even do that because the dog peed on your comforter.
ARGHHHHHHHH….hang in there!
I know! I was SO cold and tired. Thank goodness days like this don’t really happen all THAT often.
Sorry to hear about your day. I felt exhausted just reading it 🙁 Hope you feel better. That video put a smile on my face 🙂
Thank you! It put a smile on my face as well. Thankfully, Thursday and today have been much better!
Sounds like a busy day! too bad all that went down but hope things are going better today.
Thank you; things have been much better!
Oh no!! Glad things have gotten better.. When all hell breaks loose I remind myself, “A bad day makes for a good story!” Hahaha.. Hopefully something you can laugh about later.
LOL, sometimes that’s true! My bad day was just an overwhelming day. I’m laughing about it already, but it really wasn’t funny while it was happening!
