And since I will take a victory whenever and wherever I can, I consider my weekend productive and accomplished.

This may sound weird, but I spent most of it doing dishes. And enjoying my 80-degrees-in-November weather! (Seriously. Everyone I know is all like “I want cooler temps!” and “I can’t wait for winter!” But I am just enjoying these unseasonably warm days while they last, because I don’t like cold weather.)

So the reason I did dishes all day long is because I FINALLY got around to bringing in a lot of vintage stuff I’ve picked up during the spring and summer months, and left in the back of my RAV4 to deal with later. For those who may not know, the RAV4 has a compartment underneath the floor in the cargo area at the back. And you might be surprised at just how much it will hold.

The stuff I’ve picked up is mostly vintage dishes. Most of them I got to list in my Etsy shop whenever I can get around to dealing with it again, and some of them were for me. I had forgotten all about some of what was purchased, so this has been like shopping all over again, but for free! And the best thing about it is that, since I would only bring in enough at a time to wash, dry, and put away, roughly half the stuff is still out there!

I foresee fun times ahead this week as I finish cleaning, putting away, cataloguing, photographing, reorganizing, and storing these treasures until I can get them sold.

That, and How I Met Your Mother have consumed my weekend. I don’t even mind at all that it’s Monday tomorrow, and back to the grind.

Song For Sunday – Billy Squier, “In The Dark”

No special reason this was chosen, other than random shuffle really gets me sometimes. This one is from my childhood, from the time I spent my weekends at our local backwoods skating rink. I used to skate to this!

I love the idea that it was like shopping all over again, taking the stuff out of your car’s hidden compartment! Every time I read about your vintage stuff I feel the need to head to an antique shop. Knoxville has a ton of them.
Also, I love your song choice for today. 🙂

Ooh, sounds like I need to plan a shopping trip to Knoxville soon – I wonder how far it is from here?

It sounds to me like you had a productive, but relaxing weekend and I’m super jealous of that weather! I love when I hide stuff and then find it again and just like you said it’s like the excited feeling of seeing it for the first time all over again.
    Happy Monday!

Discovering “new” treasures always puts a smile on my face. I knew the stuff was there, but it had been so long I had forgotten what most of it was.

Those sound like fun finds!! I never spend enough time in those areas of thrift stores. I should, though. Who knows what I’ll find!?!

Also – HIMYM is a perfect weekend watch!

Indeed it is – I would love to take a bit more time with HIMYM, but with it leaving Netflix in a few days, this is pretty much all I’ll be watching until then!

The housewares section is about the only section of the thrift stores that I ever hit up. I never find any cute clothes, but I do bring home a lot of vintage and other thrifted purses and sometimes blankets and bedspreads!
