Note: If you swung by before now, you wouldn’t have seen today’s Music Monday post because I was having a lot of issues writing yesterday, and then the scheduled post didn’t go through. Of course, I was at work all day today, and am just now getting around to getting this posted. Sorry for any confusion, but at least it IS still Monday! (I have been known to show up late to the party on Tuesday from time to time!)
What a week/weekend it’s been! I know everyone is sick of hearing about car trouble, but we’re still dealing with it. My car is behaving for now, but my son also had some car trouble alongside mine, so I’ve been taking him to and from work for a bit. So Friday before work he treated his Mama to a hot fudge sundae at a local diner/ice cream parlor that I’ve been wanting to try out for ages.
Of course, my sundae from Golden Years Ice Cream Parlor & Diner was delicious, but I really fell in love with the decor! I really wish I had gotten more pics, but there were people in there eating and working and I don’t like to snap photos of folks without their permission. But you get the idea!
The “Monday’s Music Moves Me” theme for this week is freebie, but I’m inspired by my trip to the diner and thought I’d give you a few songs you might find on the jukebox in an old-fashioned diner – but as always, with my twist!
The Ramones – “Surfin’ Bird” (Original: The Trashmen – 1963)
ZZ Top – “Jailhouse Rock” (Original: Elvis Presley – 1957) It’s the first song in this video, but not the only one. The song’s only about two and a half minutes long!
Social Distortion – “Folsom Prison Blues” (Original: Johnny Cash – 1955)
