12 Days of (Vintage) Christmas, Day 1 – Holt Howard Ceramic Beverage Sets
I decided to do a “12 Days of (Vintage) Christmas” feature here on the blog this year, where I show off some favorite vintage holiday housewares, decor, etc. I’ll probably mostly be using embedded pins, since I don’t have a lot of vintage holiday treasures myself – but of course I will share what I do have. I also won’t be making these posts on consecutive days, but I am going to go ahead and get started.
(If pins don’t show, just hit refresh; that worked for me)
One of my favorite holiday items is the ceramic Santa Punch Bowl set from Holt Howard:
Also, see this Beverage Set with a pitcher:
Holt Howard is known for adorable whimsy, as you can see here.
Sadly, I do not currently own any Holt Howard ceramics (and won’t unless I come across them “in the wild” – either in thrift stores in good shape, or reasonably priced in antique stores.) But over the years I have managed to collect a few “Santa head” mugs (two of which are so old, they’re for looks only) and what I believe to be a canister missing its top. Which I thought could function as a punch bowl, but nope…it’s so old the paint is flaking off. I have my eyes out for a whimsical Santa pitcher or punch bowl, or even a cookie jar missing its top half if it looks right. Of course, I’d love to find the real thing! But in the meantime, this canister works well enough for me to snap a pic, and when lined with a paper lunch bag, can hold chips or party mix or cookies.
These (by these, I just mean whimsical, vintage Santa ceramics, not necessarily – but definitely including – Holt Howard pieces) are totally going on my 2018 Thrift List* and my None Left Behind list.
If you are looking for Holt Howard for your holiday parties, be sure to check all the usual spots:
