And just like that, it’s November. Not that you can really tell in my neck o’ the woods (other than the changing tree leaves). See, I’m in Alabama, and, in addition to being in the midst of a pretty brutal drought (I don’t think we’ve had rain since July or August except for a few drizzles one afternoon in September), we’ve also been experiencing record-breaking high temps. Today’s temperature? 86 degrees or so. Tomorrow’s high is supposed to be around 82, and then a cold front moving in on Thursday will lower our highs to the high 60s to mid-70s. I know a lot of people are complaining about not having a fall, but I’m not. I do adore autumn, but HATE winter. So I am not really that upset that we don’t have colder weather yet. I will, however, be quite upset when we still have winter well into May of next year, so there’s that to not look forward to.
But I digress…
It is November, and with November comes National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and it’s blog-centric sister, National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). I have done NaBloPoMo in the past with my other blogs, and I figured it would be a great way to start off this brand-new one, The ReInVintaged Life. (My motto and non-visible tagline? “Reinventing life while indulging an obsessive love of all things vintage.”) As a means of introducing myself, I invite you to check out my about page.
So, now…what can you expect from this little place? Probably a little bit of everything. I never was a niche blogger, and don’t suppose I’ll start doing that now. There will, of course, be lots of posts about music, and music-related memes/hops. There will be other hops as well. There will be posts about some of my favorite vintage things. There will be a few product reviews. I will do my best to document my daily struggles getting myself back into shape, and I will also be documenting the painfully slow process of giving my 1990s modular home some personality and style! And I feel that I must again stress p a i n f u l l y S-L-O-O-O-O-O-W-W-W. Because with my budget, I will probably have to paint a room one month, and do the floors in that room over the next (or two or three). Fortunately (well, depending on how you look at it), I already have a sizeable hoard of finishing touches and furniture at my disposal. It’s just a matter of – um – finishing those projects.
I know this wasn’t much of an actual post, and for that, I am sorry. Crickets are chirping in my head, and I figured an introduction couldn’t hurt. Oh, and it will probably seem at first like I am a day behind with my posts, since, due to my retail schedule, I will be doing this Doogie Howser-style until Friday. Did anyone get that at all? If not, it just means that posting will probably be the last thing I do at night. And on that note? I am out.
Please introduce yourself in the comments! I would love to come visit your blog!
